Give ceramics a gentler change of temperature
Kitchen transitions happen quickly: from refrigerator to heat, or from a hot surface to the sink. For ceramics, the important starting point is the temperature guidance for each product.
A stated maximum temperature should not be interpreted as resistance to abrupt thermal changes. An allowed temperature and the way an item moves between conditions are different questions.
Prepare a suitable resting surface and handle hot items carefully. If a piece shows signs of cracking, stop using it rather than experimenting at a lower temperature.
